ADV tour: Sequoia and Yosemite

Four days through Sequoia National Forest, up State Route 120, along US-395, and into Yosemite past El Capitan and Sonora Junction. DROC has run it twice, in August 2024 and July 2026.

This is the demanding one. Expect 300 to 400 miles a day, in whatever weather the Sierra gives you, and it is designed for intermediate and advanced riders on touring or adventure bikes.

What it involves

  • Four days, hotels booked ahead, route shared before departure.
  • Proper gear is not optional at this altitude and mileage. AAA coverage with 100+ mile towing is strongly suggested.
  • RSVP puts you on a waiting list rather than confirming a place. Someone contacts you privately with details.
  • The 2026 edition carried an attendance fee, $100 for riders and $50 for pillions, including a commemorative item.

Before you sign up

ADV tours are members-only and they are not the place to find out how you feel after six hours in the saddle. If you have not done one of the long day rides yet, start there. Nobody minds, and it is a much better way to learn what your bike and your back are good for.
