If you own a Ducati and you have found your way to a club website, you have probably hit the same question everyone does: what exactly is a Ducati Official Club, and what do you actually have to do to be in one? This page answers that, then explains how it works for Orange County specifically.

What a Ducati Official Club is

A Ducati Official Club, or D.O.C., is a rider community formally chartered by Ducati. It is not a fan page or a meetup group. Ducati recognizes the club, assigns it an ID, and expects it to represent the brand properly in its region.

The network is large: 387 clubs and more than 54,700 members across 71 countries, as of 2026. Ducati Riders of Orange County is one of them, founded in 2018 with the support of Ducati Newport Beach, and certified as Ducati Official Club #203. You can find us in Ducati’s own club directory.

What you get from Ducati as a D.O.C. member

Some benefits come from Ducati itself rather than from the club, and they are the same for every Ducati Official Club member:

• Free entry to the Ducati Museum in Bologna
• 10% off at the Ducati factory store
• 10% off at the Dainese store in Costa Mesa, on showing your membership in the MyDucati app
• Your Ducati Official Club digital card
• Club news and notifications delivered in the MyDucati app
• Invitations to exclusive local events run by Ducati

Registering with Ducati is what puts your Ducati Code on file. Without it you are a member of DROC but invisible to Ducati, and the benefits above do not reach you.

How joining actually works

There are two systems involved, and this is the part that confuses people. There is the club side, where you pay dues and become a DROC member, and Ducati’s side, where you register as a D.O.C. member so Ducati has your Ducati Code on file.

The order does not matter. Pay dues first and register with Ducati later, or the other way round. Plenty of members have done it each way. What matters is doing both, because each one unlocks a different set of benefits.

The club side

Register and pay the annual dues at drocdesmo.com/join. That is the whole of it.

Ducati’s side, on the web

1. Sign in at ducati.com. If you do not have an account, use Sign up first. This is a prerequisite for everything below.
2. Go to your Ducati Club page, or search the site for “Ducati Club”.
3. Use Find a Club, type DROC, and select DROC - DUCATI RIDERS OF ORANGE COUNTY.
4. Fill in the few details it asks for and press Send.

Or from the MyDucati app

1. Open MyDucati and log in.
2. Tap Dealer & DOC in the bar at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap DOC.
4. Find DROC, select it, and fill in the application.

The app is worth having anyway: it keeps a digital record of your bike, tracks service intervals, and is where your D.O.C. card and club notifications live.

What DROC adds on top

The Ducati benefits are the floor, not the reason to join a specific club. What DROC adds locally:

• A membership kit: shirt, hat, license plate frame, decals
• Members-only rides, from canyon mornings to multi-day ADV tours
• Our own private track days, which fill from the membership first
• Preferred pricing and priority service at Ducati Newport Beach, plus the VIP program
• Partner discounts on gear, training and transport
• Raffles, giveaways and rider clinics through the year

What it costs

DROC membership is $100 per year. That is the club’s dues, it covers the membership kit and the running of the club, and it is what funds the events. Ducati does not charge separately for D.O.C. registration.

If you buy and service a Ducati at Ducati Newport Beach, the dealership may cover your dues through the VIP program. The conditions are on the VIP program page.

You do not have to join to find out

This is the part most club websites leave out. DROC bike nights are free and open to non-members. Guests, friends and family are welcome. You do not need to be a member, you do not need to register, and nobody will ask you for money at the door.

If you are weighing up $100 on a club you have never met, come to a bike night first. We run them the 4th Thursday of the month at Ducati Newport Beach and the 2nd Thursday at rotating Orange County venues. Turn up on your Ducati, or turn up in a car if the weather is bad. Nobody minds.
