Ducati Riders of Orange County Named Ducati’s Most Proactive Club Worldwide
2022 “Most Proactive Club”
Costa Mesa, California — July 21, 2022 — Ducati Riders of Orange County (DROC), the Ducati Official Club serving Orange County and supported by Ducati Newport Beach, has been recognized by Ducati with the global Most Proactive Club award for organizing the highest number of events of any Ducati Official Club worldwide.
The award was presented to DROC President Renato Bonomini by Claudio Domenicali, Chief Executive Officer of Ducati Motor Holding, together with Francesco Milicia, Vice President Sales, during the Ducati Official Clubs World President Meeting held in the Republic of San Marino, Italy, where club presidents from across the Ducati Official Club network gathered ahead of World Ducati Week.
The Most Proactive Club award recognizes the Ducati Official Club that puts the most on its calendar over the course of a year, measured across the full range of club activity rather than any single flagship event.
In the year leading to the award, DROC’s calendar spanned canyon and coastal rides across Southern California, monthly bike nights at Ducati Newport Beach and at rotating Orange County venues, technical workshops, MotoGP watch parties, track days, and charity rides.
That volume is the product of a volunteer leadership team and a membership that shows up. Every ride needs a route, a lead and a sweep. Every bike night needs a venue and someone to book it. The award reflects the number of times DROC members chose to spend a weekend, or a Thursday evening, together.
“Being named the most proactive club in the world is not about us as officers, it is about how often our members say yes,” said Renato Bonomini, President of Ducati Riders of Orange County. “Every one of those events happened because somebody volunteered to organize it and a group of Ducatisti turned up for it. We are proud to carry that back to Orange County from San Marino.”
The recognition marked DROC’s first global honor within the Ducati Official Club network, four years after the club was founded. DROC went on to receive the Ducati Official Club Social Media Presence Award in 2025 and again in 2026.
