DROC Day in the Dirt: the riding day

We’ll begin with a safety and terrain rundown and shape the riding around the group. Complete beginners and first-time off-road riders are welcome. If the group and conditions suit it, we’ll take an access road to Slash X Bar & Grill for lunch.

Finish at 4 PM, before sunset. This is the end of the riding day, not an arrival time back in Orange County. Everyone returns the same way they came.

What to bring

Bring basic riding safety gear, hydration, and small snacks. Tools are optional and not really needed. Restrooms are available; food, gas, and other supplies are available about one mile away.

Which bikes are suitable

DesertX or similar, Desert Sled, and Desmo450 MX / similar dirt bikes are suggested. Multistrada and similar larger ADV bikes are OK for riders comfortable off pavement. There is no pavement in the riding area. Unsure about your motorcycle, tires, or setup? Ask in the Telegram chat or via email before coming.

DROC members may participate on Ducati or suitable non-Ducati bikes. Non-members may participate only on a suitable Ducati. No demo bikes, rentals, loan bikes, formal instruction, or guided-tour service are promised.

The organizer’s no-license-plate guidance applies only within the OHV area. It does not establish eligibility for public roads or the optional lunch route. Transport any bike that cannot legally travel on public roads.

What we expect from riders

Attend the safety and terrain rundown, ride within your limits, and follow what is briefed. First-time riders are welcome; this is a shared riding day rather than formal instruction.
